Holding Pattern

Today we did our baseline U/S with Dr. Pompy.

Lining 5mm. 5mm is "borderline". A bit too thick and he'd like to see it thinner. I'm on day 2 of AF and I should have started on the 18th. Instead AF came on the 21st, taking her own sweet time.

Left ovary: 5 follicles & a small cyst (corpus luteum). There might be more follicles behind the cyst but impossible to tell. It appears to be blood filled so he said it's likely a remnant of ovulation and thinks another week will help it to disappear.

Right ovary: He had a really hard time finding my ovary with was a bit strange. I wonder if it's moved due to adhesions or scar tissue. 7 follicles.

Bloodwork:
Progesterone 2.3
E2 35

Nurse K said that the progesterone should be at ZERO and that because it's not they feel the cyst is a corpus luteum that is just taking a while to disappear. U/S #2 next week. If I'm still bleedin' I'm going to postpone a day or two as those $290 U/S rack up fast.

So 12 follicles in all. Maybe more. I pray that a few more come out of the woodwork and surprise us.

So we continue on with the lupron for another week.

Yippee.

I wish you all the best with this cycle. Hang in there.

just a quick question. I too am starting a cycle and am using lovenox for the first time. My doctor will not start me on it until there is a confirmed pregnancy. My question to you is..are you using lovenox before you have a confirmed pregnancy. Any info would be most appreciated.

Anon-

Yes, you need to start lovenox on CD6 so that your endometrium develops properly. CD6 when you are in cycle is probably the 2nd or 3rd day of stims for you.

If you have APAs, MTHFR, or any other thrombophilia, waiting til you get a BFP is way too long to be waiting.

What is your diagnosis for using lovenox? I hope you are at least taking baby aspirin right now if you can't get lovenox earlier.

Linda,

Thanks for getting back to me.
I have been diagnosed with MTHFR (heterozygus) and Factor V Leiden.

I am curretly taking 2.2mg Folgard, Baby aspirin and prenatals. Doctor wants to add 40mg lovenox once pregnancy is confirmed.
I am using donor eggs this cycle I don't know if that makes a difference or not. I miscarried last June at 10 weeks with twin girls and later was diagnosed with the above mentioned.

Do you think I should question my doctor about when the Lovenox should be administered? What did your doctor tell you ?

Thanks for all your help.

Karen,

It doesn't matter if they're your eggs or donor eggs...your MTHFR and Factor V will still cause issues.

You totally need to educate your doctor about Lovenox. Dr. Beer (www.repro-med.net) repeatedly gave his immune patients Lovenox starting on CD6 (which equates to day 2 or 3 of stims) and continued on to the 8th month (usually patients switch to heparin close to term).

If you don't take Lovenox or heparin during stims, your endometrium can form with micro clots in the small arteries and capillaries and this can lead to placental failure after pregnancy is confirmed. Lovenox AFTER pregnancy is confirmed will NOT make problems that have already arisen go away.

Please consider joining our yahoo board for immunology patients.

Hi, I'm so sorry I can't seem to get this post attached to the right page. I'm trying to connect with affordable lupron and saw in one of your posts that you do your own injection, could you possibly email me about how you get set up to do that? thanks so much.
