CD7: FSH and BMI Inversely Related?
Key points:
-Follicule-stimulating hormone levels and BMI were inversely associated during the whole cycle, independent of age.
-Day-3 FSH levels were also significantly higher in the low-BMI group than in the high-BMI group
What is odd about this, is that women with anorexia nervosa often have very low FSH and E2.
So thin + lean = high FSH
Anorexic thin = low FSH and E2
What gives?
I'm looking for what is correlated with low FSH and normal E2 values. There's got to be something out there.

Your persistence continues to amaze me. When are you going to have your Beta 3 Integrin Biopsy? Are you still planning to do that? This may sound crazy but I have heard that there is a treatment to compliment acupuncture called fertility hypnosis. It is supposed to help w/all the pent up emotion from this crazy process of infertility. (Angry? Who would be angry after going thru 3 failed IVF's? DUH!!) Anyways, I will try anything at this point.......Keep on moving forward Linda! Marley
Hi Linda, thanks for your comment on my blog, isn't that it beautiful at that cathedral here in Tucson? I can't believe you went to Nogales for that treatment! You're SO brave, although I did brave it and go there to buy my meds. My doc said it wasn't risky at all to get the meds there so I trusted him. Don't get me wrong, I go down there all the time to shop or whatever, but I think you're brave to have gone down there for a medical procedure! I'll have to read more of your past blog to see how it all went! OH and you are now going to try to do this at home? Wow...what a woman! Good luck!
Hi Marley!
I think that the b-3-integrin biopsy is done 11 days after the LH surge. So it's towards the end of one's cycle. I am supposed to start testing for the LH surge starting today, and guess who forgot to POAS this morning! I guess I can always do it at any time of the day, no?
Fertility hypnosis sounds like a good thing to try. Infertility is highly stressful and anythingthat can reduce that for us is well worth looking into...well, alcohol and drugs excluded. :)
Sorry to catch up with you and see your cycle news, my dear! You are one indomitable woman. I think we need a pic of you in your lab coat hehe.
